Pebblecrete Pool Painting & Resurfacing
Worn, rough or algae-stained pebblecrete can be transformed into a smooth, brilliant finish with our specialist epoxy coating system — a fraction of the cost of re-pebbling, and swim-ready again in days.
Is It Time?
Six signs your pebblecrete pool needs repainting.
Pebblecrete usually gives ten to fifteen years before the surface cement breaks down. If your pool shows any of the signs below, a specialist repaint now costs far less than a full re-pebble later.
Faded, grey cement matrix
The cement between the pebbles slowly bleaches out under sun and chlorine, leaving the pool looking tired and washed-out long before the pebbles themselves wear out.
Black spot in the crevices
Pebblecrete's textured surface gives algae thousands of tiny pockets to root into. Once black spot takes hold between the stones, no amount of scrubbing keeps it away.
Rough, uncomfortable underfoot
Exposed aggregate that has gone coarse and sharp is hard on feet — and old, worn pebblecrete only gets rougher as the surface cement erodes away.
Hollow, drummy patches
Knock-test hollows and drumming spots appear as the pebblecrete loses its bond with the shell. These areas are repaired and re-stabilised before any coating goes on.
Staining that never lifts
Copper, calcium and tannin stains soak deep into worn pebblecrete and survive acid washing. A new coating system seals the stained surface under a clean, uniform finish.
Pebbles shedding and patchy repairs
Losing stones or sporting mismatched patch repairs? A full coating passes over every repair and ties the whole shell into one consistent, even finish.

How It Works
The pebblecrete painting process, step by step.
A typical pebblecrete repaint takes five to ten working days from drain to handover, weather permitting. Every stage is carried out by our own licensed team — no subcontractors.
Fully qualified — Cert 3 in Painting & Decorating, Licence 349389C. Every finish is backed by a 5 year warranty.
Free inspection & assessment
We inspect the shell, knock-test for hollow spots and check how the old pebblecrete will accept a coating. You receive a fixed-price quote with the exact scope — no surprises once we start.
Drain & surface preparation
The pool is drained and the pebblecrete is high-pressure water-blasted and acid-etched to remove algae, staining, loose cement and anything that would stop a coating bonding. Hollow patches and cracks are repaired, and the shell is fully dried.
The multi-coat epoxy system
A deep-penetrating primer locks into the aggregate texture, followed by fill coats that level the pebbled surface and two full epoxy topcoats across floors, walls and steps. Each coat cures fully before the next goes on.
Cure, refill & handover
The coating completes its final cure, the pool is refilled and restarted, and we walk you through the finish. Your written warranty is handed over on the day, along with simple care guidance for the first few weeks.
Paint, Don't Re-Pebble
Why painting beats re-pebbling.
A fraction of re-pebbling
Re-pebbling means stripping the pool back to the shell and rebuilding the aggregate finish from scratch — typically several times the cost of a specialist repaint, with weeks of disruption.
Days, not weeks
A repaint has most pools refilled and swim-ready within a fortnight. There is no demolition phase, no jackhammers and no truckloads of rubble through your backyard.
5 year warranty
The coating is covered by a written 5 year warranty against peeling, blistering and delamination — your assurance that the preparation was done properly.
Smoother, easier to clean
The fill coats smooth over the pebbled texture, so the surface is gentler underfoot, hides nothing for algae to grip, and keeps its colour far longer than bare pebblecrete.
Questions
Pebblecrete painting FAQs.
Yes — it is one of the best surfaces for it. The textured aggregate gives the coating plenty to grip, and our fill coats level the pebbled texture into a smooth, even finish. Hollow or drummy patches are repaired first so the coating bonds to a stable base.
