Concrete Pool Painting & Resurfacing
Previously Painted Pools Showing Signs Of Cracked and faded Pool Paint or rough concrete showing shells stripped of Previous Coating, Repaired and Refinished with a premium Multi-oat Epoxy System — .
Is It Time?
Six signs your concrete pool needs repainting.
Faded, chalky or blotchy finish
UV, chlorine and years of chemistry slowly break down painted concrete, leaving a chalky, patchy shell that no amount of scrubbing brings back. Repainting restores a uniform, factory-fresh look.
Cracks and hollow spots
Hairline cracks spread, and hollow or drummy patches appear where the render loses its bond with the shell. Every crack is ground out, filled and re-profiled before any coating goes on.
Rough, pitted shell
Etched and eroded concrete is sharp and uncomfortable underfoot, and the pitting gives algae somewhere to root. A filled and coated surface is smooth, sealed and easy to clean.
Algae that keeps returning
Black spot and mustard algae lock into porous concrete and survive normal chlorination. A sealed epoxy finish gives algae nowhere to grip, so the pool stays cleaner between cleans.
Staining that never lifts
Copper, calcium and tannin stains soak deep into bare or worn concrete and survive acid washing. A full coating system seals the stained surface under a clean, consistent finish.
Peeling previous paint
Old rubber or chlorinated rubber paints lift and flake in sheets once they pass their life. We strip failing coatings back to a sound base so the new system bonds properly and lasts.

How It Works
The concrete painting process, step by step.
A typical concrete repaint takes five to ten working days from drain to handover, weather permitting. Every stage — repairs, rendering and coatings — is carried out by our own licensed team, never subcontractors.
Fully qualified — Cert 3 in Painting & Decorating, Licence 349389C. Every finish is backed by a 5 year warranty.
Free inspection & assessment
We inspect the shell, knock-test for hollow spots and map every crack — hairline or structural. You receive a fixed-price quote with the exact scope of repairs and coatings, so there are no surprises once we start.
Drain, strip & repair
The pool is drained, old failing coatings are stripped, and the shell is high-pressure water-blasted and acid-etched to a sound, porous base. Cracks are ground out and filled, hollows are re-rendered, and the shell is re-profiled and fully dried.
The multi-coat epoxy system
A deep-penetrating primer locks into the concrete, followed by fill coats that level the surface and two full epoxy topcoats across floors, walls, steps and waterline. Each coat cures fully before the next goes on.
Cure, refill & handover
The coating completes its final cure, the pool is refilled, balanced and restarted, and we walk you through the finished surface. Your written warranty is handed over on the day, along with simple care guidance for the first few weeks.
Why Repaint?
Why painting beats replastering a concrete pool.
A fraction of replastering
Replastering a concrete pool can cost several times more than a professional repaint. Our epoxy system delivers a brilliant, even finish without the demolition-level price tag.
Days, not weeks
Most concrete repaints are finished in five to ten working days from drain to refill — far faster than a full replaster, so you lose far less of the swimming season.
5 year written warranty
Every finish is backed by a written 5 year warranty, applied by licensed painters (Cert 3 Painting & Decorating, Licence 349389C) — not a franchise or hand-balling crew.
Sealed and easier to clean
The cured epoxy shell is non-porous: algae and black spot have nowhere to root, stains sit on the surface instead of soaking in, and your chemical balance holds for longer.
The Complete Guide
Concrete pool painting in Sydney: what owners should know.
Why concrete pools need repainting
Concrete is the classic Sydney pool shell — built to last decades, but its surface layer is consumable. Sun, salt, chlorine and Sydney's freeze-thaw-free but humid climate steadily break down paint and render. Where a pebblecrete or marblesheen pool hides wear in its texture, a concrete pool shows every sign: chalky fade, hairline cracks, rough patches and stubborn algae. Repainting replaces that worn layer with a sealed, uniform epoxy membrane that protects the shell itself — done properly, it is routine maintenance that adds years of life, not a cosmetic patch-up.
Painting versus replastering: the honest comparison
Replastering means chipping the entire interior back to bare shell and rebuilding it with new render — a major renovation with major cost and weeks of downtime. Professional epoxy repainting repairs the failed areas, then seals the whole shell under a continuous coating. For most concrete pools, the repaint delivers the fresh look at a fraction of the cost, in days instead of weeks. Replastering is the right call only when the render itself is failing shell-wide — our free inspection tells you honestly which side of that line your pool sits on.
What our concrete repaint includes
- Full drain, strip of failing coatings, water-blast and acid etch to a sound base
- Crack repair — hairlines ground and filled, hollows re-rendered and re-profiled
- Deep-penetrating primer, levelling fill coats and two full epoxy topcoats
- Floors, walls, steps, benches and waterline all coated in one continuous system
- Refill, water balancing, restart and a written 5 year warranty on handover
Choosing a colour for your concrete pool
A repaint is the perfect time to change the water tone. Light blues keep the water bright and tropical, mid blues give the classic Sydney backyard look, and deep water tones turn the pool into a mirror for the sky. Because the epoxy colour goes on uniformly, the result is consistent from shallow step to deep end — no patchy shading between old and new surfaces.
Caring for a freshly painted pool
The coating cures fully before we refill, and normal swimming resumes once the water is balanced. From there, care is simple: keep the water in balance, brush the walls weekly in the first month, and avoid abrasive cleaners. The sealed surface resists staining far better than bare concrete — most owners find their chemical use drops and the pool stays visibly cleaner between services.

Only if the existing coating is sound and well-bonded. Anything that is flaking, lifting or chalky is stripped back first — coating over failing paint simply passes the failure on. Our inspection tells you exactly what your shell needs before we quote.
